Lecture with Landscape architects Philomene van der Vliet and Jan Maas, founders of BOOM Landscape, a laboratory for landscape architecture.
BOOM Landscape is an Amsterdam based office and investigates the contemporary (urban-) landscape with products ranging from detailed park design and strategic landscape planning to design- driven research. The characteristics of the site, local materials and planting, the tension between public and privately owned space and the transition from rural to urban landscapes are central topics of interest in their scope of work. BOOM Landscape works at various interdisciplinary projects both in the Netherlands and abroad.
BOOM Landscape is responsible for the design of ‘Cape Square’, a waterfront project in Durrës, in collaboration with Cityförster. In this lecture Philomene van der Vliet and Jan Maas present their research and design for the Cape Square project as well as recent work by BOOM Landscape.
