Andrea Caputo is an architect and researcher based in Milan. He combines his professional practice with ongoing research in architecture and urban planning. In 2011, Andrea founded his architecture studio, which is known for its innovative solutions and the creative juxtaposition of materials, emphasizing even the smallest architectural details. The studio works internationally, developing complex projects across various scales.

Andrea’s first exploration of urban culture’s aesthetic and social influences was published in All City Writers (Critique Livre, 2009), which quickly became a key reference on street culture. Since 2018, he has edited the “Studio Visit” column for Domus magazine, which delves into the practices of contemporary architecture studios. In 2022, he co-published U-Joints: A Taxonomy of Connections with Anniina Koivu. That same year, Andrea founded Dropcity, a new center for Architecture and Design in Milan.

Currently, Andrea’s studio is working with the Vastushilpa Foundation of Ahmedabad to conduct an extensive survey on the architecture of Balkrishna Doshi, the 2018 Pritzker Prize laureate.
